Bought Two More

I'm not that skilled cutting long vertical lines with a cutoff wheel, so I made me a simple guide out of 1 1/2" light angle. I used the Big Air 60 vent as a pattern, welded the pieces together and drilled holes in each corner. I then went and purchased the corded 6" angle grinder from HFT (on sale, of course), since that grinder is perfect for this type of work. It seems like a 4 1/2" is too slow, and my 9" grinder is way too heavy... although I did try it. I hold the template in place and drill the first hole in the upper right corner and attach with the supplied screws. Then I drill a couple more holes and put more screws in to secure it. I then use it to keep my wheel straight and grind away. It worked out really great, since I have 4 Big Air 60 vents to install; one in each 40HC container. I then remove any burrs with a flap wheel on a 4 1/2" grinder. The holes in the Big Air 60 are perfect in that for all 4 vents I installed, the holes were always exactly the same and the pattern worked every time.

Attention to Detail

I live in Texas, so it gets hot in the summer. I purchased a 2-Pack of the BigAir 60 Louvered Vents with the bug screens. I have seen YouTube videos where the person makes their own bug screens, but the bug screens from CMW are fabricated and rivetted in, so it is a much cleaner installation and only a little more. I love the fact that not only does the "Container Guy" have an installation video, but they come with printed instructions. These vents are very well made. The kit comes with a couple bags of 3/16" diameter X 1/2" long rivets; enough to complete the installation. They fit perfectly and only require some caulking around the top and bottom to finish the job. I installed a Whirlybird 13 feet from the end of my 40' HC container and a BigAir 60 on the shady side near the door. I placed the BigAir 60 on a corrugation to clear the door so it would not smash into the vent if the door was swung back too far. I followed the directions, and everything went according to plan. Very pleased with these vents and plan to purchase another 2-Pack of BigAir 60's for my other 2 containers.
